Everything about you could lead to a scholarship opportunity. Your hobbies, the state you live in, even your gender! Companies and nonprofits have scholarships directed towards supporting women with funding their college education.

Women are pursuing college degrees ranging across all fields of study, and account for over 50% of current college students. In fall of 2021, 11.1 million females were predicted to attend college compared to the 7.9 million males predicted to attend.

Scholarships save you from plummeting into more debt, but they can be a hassle to find. We gathered a few scholarships for women on the list below to save you time. If you want to save even more time check out scholarships on Going Merry!

ABC Humane Wildlife Academic Scholarship – Women In STEM

As a woman-owned corporation operating in a largely male field, we understand the remarkable impact women can have. We want to pave the way for other women pursuing their dreams in the scientific world, which is why the ABC Humane Wildlife Academic Scholarship – Women in STEM is a scholarship designed to increase the number of women studying and influencing the future of science, including technology, engineering and math.

Provider: ABC Humane Wildlife Control & Prevention, Inc.

Amount: Up to $1,000 per recipient

Requirements: Must be a high school senior, college sophomore, junior, or senior, or graduate school student, must be a female, applicants must be studying or planning to study the fields of science (excluding social sciences i.e. economics), engineering, mathematics, or technology, provide a college acceptance letter, recommendation letter, and transcript.

2. American Legion Auxiliary Memorial Scholarship

Amount: Up to $500 per recipient

Provider: American Legion Auxiliary – Florida

Requirements: To apply for the American Legion Auxiliary Memorial Scholarship, you must be a member, daughter, or granddaughter of a member with continuous membership in a unit within the Department of Florida for at least three consecutive years prior to the date of application. You must also be a Florida resident and attend a Florida school. 

3. B.A.B.Y. L.O.V.E. Scholarship 

The Tolbert Family would like to honor their matriarch by supporting the educational endeavors of young women of color who display the same passion for outreach or the same B.A.B.Y. L.O.V.E. spirit. 

Someone who embodies the B.A.B.Y. L.O.V.E. spirit has a beautiful heart and a yearning to help others. They are obedient to their purpose, virtuous in all things, and hold an exemplary passion for education. To apply for the B.A.B.Y. L.O.V.E. Scholarship, please tell us how you embody the B.A.B.Y. L.O.V.E. spirit.

Amount: $1,000

Requirements: (a) Must be a high school senior or undergraduate student (b) Black or African American

4. Debra Hildebrandt Scholarship

The Debra Hildebrandt Scholarship is offered to a female graduating senior from Oshkosh North High School in Wisconsin who is pursuing a degree in athletics at a college or university. Special consideration is given to students who have participated in high school athletics.

Provider: College Board

Amount: $500

Requirements: (a) Must be a high school senior (b) GPA ≥ 2.50

5. Ivy Parker Memorial Scholarship

The Ivy Parker Memorial Scholarship is an award for young women who plan to major in the engineering field.

Provider: Society of Women Engineers (SWE)

Amount: $1,500

Requirements: (a) Undergraduate Junior or Senior (b) Maximum GPA 3.0 (c) Prospective or current major in the engineering field

6. Minnesota Golf Association Foundation Women’s Scholarship

“The Minnesota Golf Association Foundation Women’s Scholarship (previously known as the MWGA Scholarship Foundation) is a Minnesota non-profit organization established in 1998 that supports young women in their collegiate ventures.” They created The Minnesota Golf Association Foundation Women’s Scholarship to help young women pursue higher education.

Provider: Minnesota Women’s Golf Association

Amount: $3,000

Requirements: (a) High School Senior (b) Live in Minnesota (c) Minimum GPA 3.2 (d) Interest or involvement in golf

7. Palantir Women in Technology Scholarship

“We launched the Palantir Women in Technology Scholarship in 2010 to celebrate and support women who are beginning careers in technology. We hope to encourage women to pursue computer science, engineering, and technical studies, and to become leaders in these fields.”

Provider: Palantir

Amount: $7,000

Requirements: (a) Full-time undergraduate students enrolled in an accredited US, Canadian or Mexican college/university enrolled in the current and upcoming school year. (b) Must be a freshman, sophomore, or junior pursuing a major in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) fields.

8. Raquel Merlini Pay it Forward Scholarship

The Raquel Merlini Pay It Forward Scholarship is designed to support one divorced woman or a single mother with an opportunity to pursue the education she deserves. All single mothers or divorced women pursuing or considering pursuing a degree in the medical field are eligible to apply.

Provider: Raquel Merlini

Amount: $1,000

Requirements: (a) Be an undergraduate, graduate, or doctorate student who is pursuing or considering pursuing a degree in the medical field.

9. SOAR Scholarship

The SOAR Scholarship program goes beyond financial resources by giving access to professional development and mentoring resources for women as they go through school. As new scholarship recipients are chosen each year, previous recipients will be invited to continue participating in SOAR activities. Ongoing participants will be able to pay it forward by providing mentorship to the new recipients and continue to benefit from the ongoing relationships these circles will build.

Provider: Heritage University

Amount: $5,000

Requirements: (a) GPA ≥ 3.0  (b) Must attend a school in Texas (c) must be a first-generation college or graduate student or have overcome significant challenges/obstacles on their educational journey.
