The Casualty Actuarial Society awards two generous scholarships per year to students from Southeastern states, including Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Virginia. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage students in these states to become future working members of the CAS.

2) NISS – Nissan Scholarship

Amount: Varies – full tuition, required fees, and a book allowance

Provider: Nissan North America, Inc.

Requirements: Must be a graduating Mississippi high school student, 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 sclae, minimum of 20 on the ACT or 940 on the SAT, must be a reside of Mississippi.

This NISS – Nissan Scholarship is awarded to students attending a public two-year or four-year college in Mississippi.

3) MESG – Mississippi Eminent Scholars Grant

Amount:  Up to $2,500 per academic year

Provider: Mississippi Legislature

Requirements: Must be a Mississippi resident, GPA of 3.5, plan to enroll full time at a college or university in Mississippi.

The MESG – Mississippi Eminent Scholars Grant may be renewed for up to 8 semesters (12 trimesters) or degree completion, whichever comes first. Students can submit one application and be considered for all state aid programs.

4) MTAG – Mississippi Tuition Assistance Grant

Amount: Up to $500 per academic year for freshmen and sophomores, $1,000 per academic year for juniors and seniors

Provider: Mississippi Legislature

Requirements: Must be a Mississippi resident, GPA of 2.5, plan to enroll full time at a college or university in Mississippi.

5) Mississippi Automotive Manufacturers Association Scholarship

Award: $1,500 for a two-year college or $2,500 for a four-year college

Requirements: Must currently be enrolled full-time at an accredited two- or four-year college, 3.0 GPA, provide transcript, two essays, resume, digital photograph, letter of recommendation.

6) SE4A Scholarship

Award: Varies

Provider: Southeastern Association of Area Agencies on Agings

Requirements: Major in gerontology or geriatrics, Financial need, Writing skills, Minimum GPA of 2.5, Commitment to volunteer work with the elderly.

For students pursuing a career in gerontology or geriatrics, the SE4A Scholarship awards several Florida scholarships each year. This scholarship is open to students in Florida as well as in Alabama, Mississippi, Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina, and South Carolina.
