Amount: Up to $15,000
The Scarlett Family Foundation’s vision is that every student receives a high-quality education to reach their full potential and become self-sufficient. Joe and Dorothy Scarlett are strong believers in the power of education to transform lives. With the help of their children, they put this belief into action by establishing the Scarlett Family Foundation Scholarship 2005 to provide merit and need-based college scholarships to Middle Tennessee students pursuing business degrees.
3. Bird Dog Foundation College Scholarship Essay Contest
Provider: National Bird Dog Foundation, Inc.
Amount: Up to $2,000
The Bird Dog Foundation College Essay Contest was established to promote interest in hunting, wildlife conservation, the rich outdoor heritage of the United States, and other related subjects. An annual College Scholarship Essay Contest has been held for several years now. The contest was created in the hopes that it would promote interest in and education about the aforementioned subjects and also give financial aid to college-bound students.
4. Christa McAullife Scholarship Program
Provider: The Tennessee General Assembly
Amount: $500
The Tennessee General Assembly created the Christa McAullife Scholarship Program to honor the memory of Christa McAuliffe, a high school teacher who lost her life in the space shuttle Challenger accident. The scholarship program was established to encourage promising Tennesseans who have a commitment to teaching and inspiring young minds to explore and achieve their highest potential.
